How to deal with demanding cases of implant placement
A hands-on workshop, led by Raquel Zita Gomes, to give you the opportunity to try different techniques on models. This workshop is part of the Dentinal Tubules Congress 2019.
Professionals leading the course
Implant therapy is a recognised treatment for edentulous areas with long term success. Nevertheless, in some critical situations we must use different techniques of advanced oral surgery and bone regeneration to permit the implant placement avoiding the damage of important anatomical structures, like the inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) or the maxillary sinus. In severe cases of atrophic jaws, we must use very specific techniques to solve the problem, like short or tilted implants or even more advanced techniques like sinus lift and filling, extensive GBR, inferior alveolar nerve transposition, trespass or lateralization. Is also very important to know how to deal and solve complications.
As part of the Dentinal Tubules Congress 2019, Oral Surgeon and Implant Surgeon, Raquel Zita Gomes will lead this workshop using SKY implants and TIXXU bone regeneration materials.
The objective of the workshop is to explain the different treatment options with oral implants in demanding cases of atrophic jaws and to use some state-of-the-art techniques to help solving some challenging cases with predictable results.
You will have the opportunity to try some of the techniques on models (hands-on).
- Gain an overview of the techniques available to place implants in severe atrophic jaws
- Gain an insight into the techniques of short implants, sinus lifting, nerve transposition to overcome challenges
- Understand how to manage complications in such situations
